Catholics for Marriage Equality
LGBT Catholics and their families and friends
share stories of faith, marriage and family
Sponsored by Catholics for Marriage Equality MN, an initiative of the Catholic Pastoral Committee on Sexual Minorities
According to the Pew Foundation the majority of American Catholics support civil marriage rights for same-sex couples.
We are Roman Catholics within the Archdiocese of St. Paul-Minneapolis who advocate for civil marriage for all, regardless of sexual orientation. We are called to such advocacy by the Gospel message of liberation and our Church’s teachings on justice and human rights.
As Catholics we value compassion, justice, family, truth-telling and love, and we witness all these qualities and values in the lives and relationships of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) people. In other words, we see the face of God in the love and commitment of same-sex couples and families.
Our series of “video vignettes,” simply entitled Catholics for Marriage Equality, gives LGBT Catholics, their families, and their friends an opportunity to share stories of faith, marriage and family. We invite you to seek and discern the face of God in the reality of their lives and relationships.
